For our client, a world’s leading specialty chemicals companies, we are looking for a Head of Applied Technology/ Technical Service APAC (m/w/d).

Your responsibilities:

  • You provide competent applied technology and technical service support for all sales and development products of the Business Line for the APAC-region including technical responsibility and handling diverging interests.
  • You apply resource-optimized management of the department and coordinate the collaboration with regional partner-departments (Marketing, Product Management, Sales, Research, QM).
  • Initiate and plan implementation of product optimization and innovation projects to ensure long-term business success.
  • Identify market needs and align them with ongoing or new innovation activities as well as developing and optimizing the innovation project portfolio for the relevant market segments.
  • Initiating quality-relevant activities with internal and external costumers as well as initiating measures within the scope of EHSQ to increase competitiveness.
  • Represent the client in national and international committees/ trade fairs, publications and speeches.
  • Responsible for team management and motivation as well as Budget and cost center.

Your profile:

  • Successfully completed university degree in the field of chemistry/chemical engineering or related topics, further education in Business Administration beneficial
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in same/similar function including leadership-experience
  • Experience in working with a variety of companies in multiple regions including Europe and Asia, incl. China in same/similar function within a matrix-organization
  • Strong leadership-skills resp. coaching, mentoring, motivation, and project management skills are essential
  • Very good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PP, etc.), SAP user experience is of competitive advantage
  • Professional language skills in Chinese (Mandarin) and English skills mandatory, ideally German
  • Willingness to spend the first 12 months of employment working in the german headquarters in the city of Essen/Western Germany before a relocation to Shanghai/China
